The Redken Symposium
Okay, now I know what you’re probably thinking, but no.  Sure there’d be bright lights in the big city and we’d have a free day to do the whole “tourists” thing, but our goal was the pure thrill of education, mentors, and networking with thousands of others who share our craft, on a national and international scope.

Enter Redken Symposium 2015! An event that takes place every other year in Las Vegas, Nevada.  Centered around Redken 5th Avenue,  its brand, artists, and mission to learn & earn, and paired with sister company, Pureology, this 3 day venture is jam-packed with excitement!

Sunday, or day one, started with a fabulous Gallerie of every geekery imaginable to aid in our profession; from products to weapons of choice (shears, brushes, & heat tools, oh my!), apparel, aprons, & other fun Redken paraphernalia!  Shopping…it’s essential. Later that evening, we would be treated to a cocktail chic pre-party & grand opening show where music, artists, models, and 8,500 hairstylist would come together and celebrate.

So cool!

Tuesday morning (we’re starting to get into this moving & shaking out West thing) offers another day of three more insightful and amazing classes!  Information overload in the best way possible!  Still not even sure which of these now six overall classes were the most beneficial…they were all so unique and inspiring; not a snoozeville in the bunch.  We all agreed that this Symposium experience was the bee’s knees!!

Now, you’re waiting for the part where I was exhausted and ready to get back to my family, my dog, and my bed…and I was (like most after a trip).  But, even more, I was personally excited to get back to my salon home, my clients, and all of those mannequins to practice new techniques on.  This trip was full of heightened awareness, education, and even a new set of eyes and outlook of the possibilities of creativity that lead stylists to thrive.

I’ve heard that “what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas,” in this case, we are bursting to share, share, share!!
